A Primary School in Oxford has recently opened a resource unit for the children with SEN enrolled in their school and therefore are looking for a Psychology (or similar degree) Graduate to work as a SEN Teaching Assistant to support children with complex needs, Autism and Learning Disabilities. These children aged 3-11 require consistent, ongoing support in order to ensure they have the highest quality of care and child-centred support.
Candidates with relevant SEN experience would be desirable but not essential and experience in a similar role will be considered. Graduates in a similar field will also be considered (e.g. Psychology, Criminology etc).
You will be working in a small group or occasionally on a 1 to 1 basis, alongside therapists, psychologists, teachers and other support staff. A truly FANTASTIC opportunity for any aspiring educational or occupational psychologist to work alongside the therapists and psychologists based on-site at school. You will be mentored and have the opportunity to shadow sessions and learn from them. Plus you will gain invaluable experience working with numerous Special Needs and Mental Health issues.
This role also contains options to further develop within the education industry with Teacher Training available.

The SEN children in this school require an open minded Teaching Assistant who understands their complex needs. Suitable experience can include working with SEN children and/or adults in any setting, even on a personal level such as with family. Level 3 qualifications+ are also required and a Degree would be most desirable.
