About the Trust –

West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals provide acute healthcare services to a core catchment population of approximately half a million people living in west Hertfordshire and the surrounding area. The trust also provides a range of more specialist services to a wider population, serving residents of North London, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire and East Hertfordshire.

What you’ll be responsible for

What are the primary tasks/responsibilities in order of importance?

  • Performing prescribed scientific work in sections of the Blood Sciences Department and developing professional expertise in these areas
  • Working effectively as a team member of the Blood Sciences Department
  • Assisting in the training and development of new and less experienced staff as required
  • dealing with the receipt, preparation, and analysis of diagnostic samples

The role will involve, but not be limited to you performing the above.

You’ll have the following qualification/experience:

  • Minimum of three GCSEs including English Language, Mathematics and

a science subject

  • A-level or equivalent qualification in a science subject
  • Previous experience of working in a clinical laboratory

*Depending on the Trust, you may require variable additional certification and skills.
